Historically, when people think about chiropractic care, they think of the lower back and spinal manipulation. A recent article published in a peer reviewed, medically indexed journal stated that most chiropractors routinely diagnose and treat arm and leg conditions. Combining exercise with motion in the joints is a major component of the chiropractic management of lower extremity conditions.
You may know someone that suffers with knee pain, hip pain, plantar fascitis, patellofemoral pain syndrome and ankle sprain. When it comes to a multidisciplinary approach to lower extremity musculoskeletal disorders, the integration of chiropractic treatment is not only indicated and effective, it is increasing in popularity. Treatment should be directed at increasing range of motion, increasing strength and being customized to the individual.
