10/22/10 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Saturday

by Katie (Jenny Craig 2009 Poster Girl) 22. October 2010 20:06

Continued from 10/21/10.  I left off yesterday telling you how the doctor told us we needed to get going to the hospital.  At first I was calmly getting ready:  I took a shower, blew dry my hair, put on my makeup, and ate a bagel.  Hey, I wasn't sure when my next shower or meal would be so I was making sure I did it all then.  But, the contractions kept getting worse and the next thing I knew my mucous plug (or some of it) had come out.  It wasn't bad, just a little gooey, not bloody as it is for some (whew, I had been dreading that!).  However, that just amped up my calmness to now anxiety.  I kept thinking if my contractions are this intense and now my mucous plug is out what if for some reason the baby is ready to come out too?!  After eating I went to go find why my husband was not already in the shower and ready to leave.  Lovely, he was in his tightie whites straightening up the house and getting the dogs ready for my parents to stay at the house.  Now normally I would think this was so considerate of him but in my anxious state I snapped at him to get in the shower.  Now in my defense, I was in a lot of pain and not myself.  I can proudly say this was the only time I snapped at him throughout the whole labor and delivery process!  Luckily, 30 minutes later we were in the car and on the road to the hospital!  To be continued...
